With the abundance of flesh tones from nude to blush already filling the rails in our favourite fashion stores the concept of complimenting this fresh new look with coral make-up might make most fashionistas recoil with horror.
The memory of chalky coral lipstick from the 80s is ingrained in the memory as a beauty faux pas but Bobbi Brown's elegant new collection of incredibly wearable corals are set to convince even the most skeptical make-up novice.
Bobbi Brown may be well known for as the queen of the natural look so her corals are reassuringly soft and pretty.
Bobbi Brown says "Coral can be one of the most uplifting colours a woman can wear and can make the skin look younger and fresher. "Use soft pink corals on the cheeks and lips to create a pretty sheen. To keep this look modern the eyes stay nude with just a touch of natural Cream Shadow, a thin liner and a Lash Lengthening Mascara. "Use a soft peach Lipstick on the lips with a shimmery coral gloss on top. For the sun kissed glow dust a bronzed coral Shimmer Brick high on the cheeks and over the eyelids. Finish the look with a few layers of Black Mascara."
The easiest places to wear coral are on the cheeks and lips. Bobbi Brown's Pot Rouge for lips and cheeks in Calypso Coral (£16.50) is a generous pot of coral crème which gives the skin such incredibly fresh flow that it could make Aunt Sally blush. As with most blush products it's very easy to be heavy handed and go OTT so apply a tiny amount. Pat on the apples of the cheeks and blend and blend to give that glowy fresh look seen all over the Spring Summer fashion catwalks. Pat onto the lips for an undefined effect looks really youthful and has a carefree, super-pretty look that will take you from spring to summer with ease.
With Shimmer bricks, lip sticks and lip glosses in the range - there is at least one classy coral for everyone.
