Lily Allen, Paris Hilton and Katie Holmes are all at it - changing the length of their hair as the mood takes them.
And why not? Us fashion-fabulous types don't wear the same party frock each time we go out, so why not play around with our hair too.
But we can't wait for years while our hair grows at the snail-like pace of 1cm a month.
So to help us, we've discovered a great brand of real hair clip-in extensions - Verlocke! Clip & Go, which launched in the UK this year - which will bring you from bouncy bob to flowing tresses in no time.
Trends Editor Andrea tried them out and reported great results - and got lots of compliments about her new look when she ventured out in them too.
OK, so she cheated a little initially by asking BFF Paul Meekin, owner of Partners Hair & Beauty, on Belfast's Castlereagh Street, to put them in for her.
But with foolproof instructions, you can't go wrong even if you do it yourself at home.
Just backcomb your own hair a bit where the clips are going to be attached and cut the wefts into different sections if need be.
You can also wash your Verlocke! clip-ins in tepid water, using a nourishing shampoo that doesn't contain alcohol, followed up with conditioner to keep them looking perfect.
And you can change the colour with a semi-permanent hair colour or just go wild and order a crazy pink or red shade.
You can also choose from big curls or sleek locks, or use the clip-ins to add volume or highlights.
The hair extensions are available straight or wavy in 40cm/16 inch or 50cm/20 inch lengths.
They come as wefts, fitted with attachment clips and you can use the whole length of the weft, or cut it into smaller sections.
You'll need one weft to give your hair volume, and two or three for an instant full head hair extension.
Verlocke! Clip & Go costs from £23.44 for a 40cm long straight weft.
Check out the range and order online at www.verlocke.co.uk , where you can also buy hair care products and accessories.
