Back in September, I wrote of my love for the Smashbox eyeshadow palettes- specifically the Photo Op Eye Enhancing Palettes customised for blue, brown and hazel eyes. Retailing at £30, I think this palette is so worth the money, as it lasts for ages and you get a daytime and night-time look plus a mirror all-in-one.

NYC make-up has now launched their version of the 'customised' palette and at just £3.29, it was definitely worth a try.

The NYC Individual Eyes Custom Compact offers blue, brown and green-eyed gals four shades of shadow to specifically enhance the eye colour. I tried the green eyes 'Central Park' compact, and was immediately taken by the wide variation of very light to dark shades in the palette- as it allows for clear definition on your lids. The colours are pale champagne, gold, light brown, and dark brown with shimmer.

The shades really highlighted the colour in my eyes which can sometimes look grey, and the green tones appeared more intense and noticeable. The tones available offer a perfect daytime, natural look which is great for work, or a shopping day with the gals! I probably wouldn't use the palette for a night-time look as I prefer my eyes to look more dramatic on a night out.

Not only does the palette offer four shadows, it also includes a primer and an illuminator. As a bit of a novice when it comes to primers- I can only say that having used it as a base, the pigment on my eyelids remained strong throughout a day at work and required no touch ups- so this gets a thumbs up from me!

The applicator sponge is the only thing I don't use from the compact as I find it quite difficult to achieve definition with- and I just end up looking a bit clumsy- so I use my own eye shadow brush instead.

At £3.29, the NYC Custom Compact is, in my opinion, an absolute steal. It is so handy for carrying around with you and the colours are such that it's difficult to go wrong with application.
