Eco Mamma - Eco Bambino

green_living.jpgYou wouldn't dream of putting harsh chemicals on your baby's skin, so why would you put them on yours when you're pregnant?

The eco-conscious people behind Mambino Organics are of the same opinion, which is why they have created a new range of 100 per cent natural skin care for mothers and babies (and even if you're child-free, read on, because everyone - women, men and children of all ages and with all skin types - can use these products too).

And Mambino does it all with a sense of fun too - calling their 'nine month journey' pack the Bun in the Oven kit.

Made by nature and crafted by hand, the products support organic farmers and growers by using organically-grown and harvested botanicals from Tahiti, Italy, the Far East, Hungary and South Africa.

Ingredients have been blended without the use of chemicals or additives and are safe to use during pregnancy (so that means they're safe for everyone else to use too).

The woman behind the brand is one of LA's top beauty gurus, Maki Maodus - facialist to the stars.

mambino300.jpgWith a background in cosmetic chemistry, nutrition and aromatherapy, Maki regularly faced questions from clients regarding safe, natural skincare and pregnancy products. Unable to find any that she felt good about, in true superwoman style, she started creating her own!

And what potential mum could live without pure, unscented Tippy Toes Ultra Gentle Baby Oil which is great for newborns.

Or how about Calendula Olive Nipple Butter? (to be honest, us child-free Sugahfixers are quite intrigued by that last one too!).

Processed at very low temperatures to keep all the goodness in, ingredients are kept active and effective - an expensive and time-consuming process, but one which Maki firmly believes in.

That's why her philosophy is a very simple, but powerful one - "be good, do good. Life is short and what we do today will affect our lives forever."

The Bun in the Oven kit (£29.95) (pictured above) features 5 fab products, including Oh Baby! Belly Butter, an ultra-rich, anti-stretch formula with mango and shea butter which helps prevent stretch marks and soothes dry, itchy skin - and which you can use after childbirth too.

Also in the pack is the light, refreshing Moisture Me Body Toning Oil, the vitamin C-rich Youth Glow Omega Face Complex, the refreshing Mommy Time Organic Body Wash and the brilliant, moisturising Kissable Lips balm.

Other Mambino products of interest to new mums are its Mommy and Baby Calming Aromatherapy Oil and its C-Section Regenerative Scar Therapy - which can, of course, be used by non-mums too to minimise the appearance of scars.

In fact, we're quite taken with all the products - if they're gentle enough to be used by babies and pregnant women, then they are suitable for everyone (we're sure joggers could find a use for the Nipple Butter, as it's good for sore, painful and chapped nipples. Ouch!).

All Mambino items are Fair Trade, are made in small batches to retain freshness, are vegan and cruelty free and are available from www.mambinoorganics.co.uk.
