The problem is that the word ‘natural’ is bandied about far too much, with some skin care brands claiming to be natural when in fact they use ingredients that are anything but. That includes ingredients such as Polyaminopropyl Biguanide, which is actually a disinfectant also used in cleaning solutions for contact lenses.
By contrast, JooMo has developed the first fully natural face wash, so if your skin is at all sensitive or you care about what you put on it, then this is for you. It doesn’t contain any nasty chemicals – no additives, preservatives or foam boosters (such as SLS), no alcohol (which is often found in cleansers) and no synthetic perfumes. In fact, there’s nothing in it that you can’t actually eat – although we don’t recommend that you actually try!
JooMo founders Nick Wallen and Linda Russell use SaponinJ, because it deals with existing skin problems, repairs the damage caused by synthetic products and helps to rebuild the skin’s natural defences.
It’s been specially designed for young skin, which is particularly sensitive and prone to acne and blackheads and it comes in cool packaging – what’s not to love?
The face wash itself has a light honey colour and a runny consistency, and contains honey and orange, although for me, the fresh cinnamon scent is what struck me the most.
It left my skin really feeling clean and fresh with that almost ‘squeaky clean’ feeling and although I may be older than the target market, I still get the odd spot. I have fairly normal skin, not too dry and not too greasy, so I was pleased to read that it’s good for all skin types, and as well as dealing with spots and blackheads, it’s good for skin with rashes, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis too.
You can buy JooMo facewash (£4.75 for 100ml plus £2.50 postage in the UK at a flat rate of £2.50 per order for any number of items) at www.JooMo.coop.
