10 out of 10 goes to Lord Mayor of Belfast Naomi Long MLA, for being totally up for it in this photo to promote the 10th Belfast Film Festival.

Flanked by Frankenstein Girl and Vampire Girl she seems quite pleased that Vampire Girl actually about to bite her (or sneakily steal her programme)  and all in the sunny daylight of the Cathedral Quarter - brilliant!

For the first time in quite a while the Sugahfix gals actually thinking maybe politicians aren't so bad after all - Naomi for first minister! Yay!

But before we get carried away with the all the craic - back to the subject in hand.

Japanese gothic horror Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl is one of the 125 films and events planned over the 16 day Film Festival running from 15th - 30th April and including a special screening by the Sugahfix Gals themselves of 80s cult classic ‘Pretty in Pink' at Slide on 29th April. More news on that to follow.

The Festival opens on Thursday 15th April at the Moviehouse, Dublin Road with the UK/Irish Premiere of Triage starring man of the moment, Colin Farrell as war photographer Mark Walsh. Set in the late eighties, Walsh is sent to Kurdistan with a fellow photographer and friend, both capturing images of a war without borders that will affect both their lives profoundly.

Other Top Picks include Cupcake - fun and frolics with buns and dodgy in-laws in the world premiere of Cupcake, Colin McIvor's directorial debut. Topps Twins - The Untouchable Girls, New Zealand's most cherished and charmingly irrepressible performing duos. The Classics at The Strand Cinema with High Society, Meet me in St Louis, Kiss me Kate and Les Demoisselles de Rochfort and a screening of a classic episode of The Prisoner at The Church of Christ, Scientist on University Ave. The Sugahfix Gals are loving the idea of this event as we've always been curious as to what the inside of this huge white building looks like and it turns out that the architect Clough Williams-Ellis is most well known for his work in the village of Portmerrion in Wales which is the setting for The Prisoner series.
