MTV have announced the nominees for the 2011 MTV European Music Awards to be held in Belfast next month.

Lady Gaga is the fore-runner with six nominations while Katy Perry and Bruno Mars are both up for four awards. The fabulous Adele, who is the top-selling artist of the year, has been nominated for three awards- along with Justin Bieber and Thirty Seconds to Mars who played Belsonic last month.

Get the cameras ready for some celeb-spotting around town as the 18th annual MTV EMA will broadcast live on Sunday, 6th November at 9pm from Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on MTV channels around the world.

Expect Fireworks as two reigning queens of pop go head-to-head at this year’s EMA in four of the same categories- Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are competing for Best Live Act, Best Pop Act, Best Female and Best Song- with Perry nominated for “Firework” and Gaga for “Born This Way”.  Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” is also up for Best Song- but let’s hope MTV just stick to Katy’s Fireworks on the night!!

Adele has been nominated for Best Female and Best Song and Video for “Rolling In The Deep”- while teen hottie Justin Bieber will compete against his gorgeous girlfriend Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Paramore and Thirty Seconds to Mars for the new ‘Biggest Fans’ Award which recognises the passionate fan-base of successful artists.

Loads of other global superstars are also in the running for lovely MTV awards including Beyonce, Coldplay, Foo Fighters and Eminem- so fingers crossed they’ll all make the journey across the pond to lil’ old Belfast for the event!
