The award-winning fashion event Magners Light Fall for Fashion is moving to a brand new venue and adding an extra date. From 6-8th October MLFFF will relocate to an edgy warehouse venue 'Double Yellow' behind Desks International on Bruce Street, Belfast.
The first night's usual 'Something Old, Something New' is back with vintage and high street favourites including Oxfam Vintage, The OUTLET and Marks & Spencer, and customised designs from students from Belfast Metropolitan College, supported by the Unite Against Hate campaign.
Grounded Espresso Bars, who provided delicious canapés for guests at the launch, will run an innovative competition, where the public will be invited to collect a coffee sack from their Boucher Crescent cafe and customise it - making something ordinary - extraordinary. The winner will feature on the catwalk during Tuesday nights show.
The second night, 'Boutique Chic' will feature local boutiques from across Northern Ireland to include Remus Uomo, The Boudoir and EK Eyewear with The Lisburn Road boutiques having their own dedicated showcase.
The finale evening entitled 'Designers NI' will feature fashion design talent from NI thanks to backing from Belfast City Council and The European Regional Development Fund. Local fashion designers were invited to submit applications for the opportunity to preview their Spring / Summer 2011 collections - a first for Northern Ireland. Finalists will be unveiled mid-September.
Event sponsor James Simpson, Magners Marketing Manager at Tennent's NI, says, "St George's Market has been a great home for us over the years and has provided a really interesting backdrop for the shows but it's time to move on and give the whole thing a bit of a shake-up!
True style is about what's fresh and unexpected and that goes for show venues as well as what's on the catwalk. We're all really excited about what's on offer at Double Yellow with its warehouse feel. It was so hard to keep the lid on the speculation about where we'd be popping up, but it was worth it as it all helped add to the sense of expectation which precedes every show!"
"Magners Light attracts the same image-conscious audiences as the head turning shows making fashion a perfect fit for a brand that's young, creative and trend-setting. Even better for style-conscious consumers who like to keep an eye on their figures, Magners Light is only 92 calories with the same 4.5% strength as Magners Original."
Tickets for each night cost £10 and are available at Ticketmaster www.ticketmaster.co.uk or from www.fallforfashion.com. Tickets include a complimentary bottle of Magners Light and a generous goodie bag. Profits from Ticket sales will be donated to Friends of the Cancer Centre.
