Have you ever dreamed of being a model but having watched Tyra and Elle put the Next Top Model girls through their paces you know you need experience as well as the essential raw materials to get onto a model agencies books.
As part of a weekend of style shows, fashion and music on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th October 'The Quays Next Top Model' is being launched, which is the centre's biggest ever model search competition in association with Style Academy Model Agency in Belfast.
And the Sugahfix gals will be on hand on Friday to give style advice on the new season trends to shoppers but will also be on the look out for potential entrants for the model search.
Girls with model potential can come along during Saturday's style event between 2-4pm and get a mini model make-over, get styled by Sugahfix Editor Katrina Doran and have a professional photo taken. If you'd like to enter the model search but don't have a full length and head and shoulders photo – this is the perfect opportunity to boost your chances and impress one of the key judges at this early stage!
The competition will be open to 16-24 year old male and females who meet the criteria. There is a host of fabulous prizes up for grabs including a year-long modelling contract with Style Academy and lots of stylish goodies from The Quays. The competition will run from October through to Spring 2012 when the winner will be announced as part of Newry Style City 2012.
Cool FM's Connor Phillips will be compering the Next Top Model launch on Friday 7th and will have several professional models from Style Academy talking about what it takes to be a model. On Saturday 8th the 'Strike a Pose' fashion show will be back with an exciting new format.
Tracey Hall, Style Academy Model Agency Director said, "We have put on some incredible shows in The Quays over the past couple of years. It would be amazing if next year we had the winner of The Quays Next Top Model taking part. We are looking for someone with style, looks, personality, height and presence who can walk well, talk well and most of all has the confidence and ability to showcase fashion. There will be lots of fun along the way with opportunities to take part in different events happening in The Quays, have a professional photo shoot and lots more in the quest to find The Quays Next Top Model."
