The Sugahfix Gals got a sneak peek backstage at the MTV EMAs wardrobe department today at The Odyssey and we got to speak to head of department  Zoe Holbrough and Wardrobe assistant Jo Foster for lots of  insider info.

Scanning the rails we spotted nude full body suits, lots of black 'Dickies' overalls, black tops with sequined shoulders, jewel coloured embellished bra tops and metallic body suits. Boxes of gold glitter covered brogues, a bag of black robber masks alongside one silver mask with embellished trim and feathers, Black bowler hats, gold hotpants and yards and yards of gold lamé! Sewing machines were buzzing, the ironing board was busy and scissors were snipping.

Speaking to Jo about the costumes lined up on the rails she shared that most items were from the high street and the stylists had been shopping in Topshop and H&M in Victoria Square for multiple items for the dancers.

Jo noted "There'll be lots of sequins, trimming with glittery things. Lots of black, and lots of sparkle!"

Most items will be customized with glitter, sequins and some will be hand painted with luminous paint.

We spotted some photos on the wall of a black costume with white Inca style patterns – maybe Justin Beiber will be arriving on stage as a monochrome Inca god?!! Whatever the dancers and stars will be wearing on the stage – it will be spectacular!

Justin Beiber and David Guetta's dancer will be wearing hand painted costumes while Jessie J's male dancers will be looking sharp in tailored suits with leotards for her female dancers.

We also spotted lots of purple and pink – the MTV EMA 2011 colours!

To get the MTV EMA look Jo advised, "Get creative! Customise things from the high street – add sequins, glitter, paint t-shirts with luminous paint."

So if you're going to the awards –to get the look – we'd advise going on the theme of black and sparkle!
