Last season the rock chick look was about looking like you were a fan of the band - this year it's about taking centre stage and getting the look and attitude of the lead singer so it's evolving that rock chick look to being a rock star!
Our latest photoshoot was shot on location at the new Fitzwilliam Hotel, Belfast and it just had to be the penthouse for full rock chick fabulousness! The colours of the penthouse ,with lots of monochrome and accents of mint green, were perfect to really highlight model Hannah's incredible vibrant orange bob.
For the Rock Star look there is a lot of black but check out items with fabric embellishment which adds interest on simple shapes or add accents of colour in your accessories and metallic studding on shoes, bags and cuffs to lift the look.
Think subtle sparkle and shimmer to catch the light when those spotlights come up! Beading details and sequin all add to the effect. The Julian Clancey black chiffon dress from Madison Rose has lots of shimmering embellishment that totally changes a simple shape to a stunning statement piece.
Animal print is always a staple of a rock star but tread carefully as it's a look that can get OTT. Matt sequined mini dress from Harrison Boutique is stunning but still understated. This look is never brash or tacky - it's classy all the way.
Skyscraper heels are a must and that extra height demands attention. Choose metallic studding detail, fringing, strappy styles and dramatic shapes for ultimate wow factor. River Island have some stunning statement heels in stock this season while the new Kurt Geiger store in Victoria Square is simply drool worthy for any gal with a shoe obsession.
