From Grace Woodward on Britain's Next Top Model to Josie on Big Brother - the Geek Chic eyewear trend has been picked up as an essential accessory trend. Brian Dowling has also been sporting chunky geek chic style frames on Ultimate Big Brother but this hot trend started as an edgy fashion look.

This trend started with fashion and eyewear designer Tom Ford's directorial debut on ‘A Single Man'. Colin Firth's character wears black chunky frames - designed by Mr Ford of course - and they became a cult trend before the film even hit the cinemas as uber-cool opticians got their hands on the frames first.

Tim wears the classic black Tom Form frames in the Shu scenes, and a softer tortoiseshell frame by Oliver Peoples in the ‘proposal' scene photographed in The Antique Gallery.

Wearing glasses have never been so cool.
