University of Ulster 3rd year fashion & textiles students and fine art students had never seen each others work but after a tour of final year exhibitions the Sugahfix gals were overwhelmed by the zeitgeist that was clearly zipping around in the creative ether of the York Street Campus.
Inspired by the graphic colours and shapes of fashion students Rachel Shaw, Krystyna Scullion and Jayne Bristow, textile students Sinead McCahey and Dave Henderson & designer in residence Kerry Brogan the Sugahfix creative team blended creativity of fashion, hair, make-up and art for this bold new collection.
From Sinead McCahey's delicate monochrome silk printed pieces to Dave Henderson's etheral lace-like mask, Rachel Shaw's chunky knits to Rachel Bristow's African-inspired graphic shapes to Krystyna Scullions punchy 'Kid K' body suit, rain mac and acrylic accessories - we think this is the future of the fashion - and fashion loves art!
