It’s always great to find a ‘dupe’ product that does the same as a much more expensive item. There’s usually some reduction in quality and packaging rather than just a brand swap but often the cheaper product does the job just as well. And if it’s good enough for our Cheryl then “Why-Aye!” – we’ll give it whirl!
L’Oreal Skin Perfection Magic Touch Instant Blur is enriched with optical blur polymers to fuzz out the appearance of shine, open pores and blemishes for an event finish. When I first heard of Magic Touch I thought it was a dupe for Nano Blur, which I’ve tried and before and wasn’t impressed with it at all. However it’s more similar to Benefit’s Porefessional.
It can be used on it’s own and would be a great product for guys who want to get a matt effect to their skin without using foundation or powder – without wearing ‘make-up’. It’s not, however, a primer so you should just use it on areas of concern rather than the whole face.
I tested Magic Touch on one half of my face and to see the difference and it certainly gave a more matte look to my skin. I then tried it with Magic Touch on one side and Benefit’s Porefessional on the other. The initial matte finish was pretty 50-50 but the Benefit product lasted longer throughout the day. It’s a great dupe for around half the price of Porefessional but if you’re looking for shine free finish all day long – then you might need to spend some extra pounds.
