The Foo Fighters will headline the Boucher Road Playing Fields gig on Tuesday, 21st August supported by the Black Keys, while the fabulous Florence and the Machine will support The Stone Roses on Wednesday, 22nd August.
There’s no denying the calibre of performers set to take the Tennent’s Vital stage this Summer, but does the line-up mark a change in who organisers are targeting? And what does it say about concert-goers?
Last year, the line-up was definitely all about the teenie boppers– with The Script, Ellie Goulding and Two Door Cinema Club entertaining crowds on day two, and of course the unforgettable Eminem causing controversy as day one’s main act, Sugahfix ed Katrina stayed as far away as possible from Bangor’s Ward Park venue, while Sugahfix Claire was looking forward to Ellie’s performance.
This year, Sugahfix ed Katrina is loving the line-up on both nights- but is particularly excited about seeing Florence and The Stone Roses on night two– while Sugahfix Claire isn’t really interested in seeing any of the acts live.
Is the marked musical difference between this year and last simply an attempt to please everyone, ensuring that those who weren’t interested last year will be first in the queue for tickets this time around? Or have the organisers targeted a (very slightly!) older crowd because they are now the ones buying concert tickets?
Maybe we’re reading too much into the line-up here at Sugahfix HQ- let us know your thoughts on it. Either way- Sugahfix Katrina will be ready and waiting when tickets for both days go on general sale next Wednesday (28th March) at 9am!
Tickets for each night are priced at £49.50 including booking fee and are strictly limited to 8 per person/transaction.
Tickets can be bought at www.ticketmaster.ie, by calling 0844 8472455 or in person at Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
Tennent’s Vital is an over 16’s event but a parent aged 25 and over can take up to two under 16’s to the show. Parents will be required to show age identification and sign a consent form in order to gain admission on the day. Under 16’s must be accompanied by their parent at all times.
