Built on the man-made island The Palm, Atlantis is the largest water-themed attraction in the Middle East and here at Sugahfix.com we’re dying to take a dip!
It’s the first and flagship resort to open on The Palm and it features – take a deep breath now, because this is a long list – a stretch of beach, a marine habitat consisting of 65,000 different species of marine life and the massive Aquaventure waterpark.
Then there are the amazing children’s facilities, numerous dining choices including four celebrity-chef restaurants (Locatelli, Santi Santamaria, Michel Rostang and Nobu), a nightclub, spa and fitness club and The Lost Chambers, a maze of underwater corridors and passageways providing a journey through ancient Atlantis.
And that’s not forgetting Dolphin Bay, a state-of-the-art education and conservation centre, where you can meet and interact with these cute creatures.
And, of course, since Dubai is the shopping capital of the world, the resort’s own retail promenade, The Avenues, is home to numerous big names from Tiffany and Co. to Lacoste.
Plus, it’s got Kylie’s seal of approval – the tiny popster is performing at the official opening party of Atlantis in November. As the Aussie princess would say – wow, wow, wow, wow.
What’s not to love! We especially like the sound of the spa and fitness centre at Atlantis.
There are pampering treats available, from water therapies to seaweed wraps and body polishes plus special treatments such as the Atlantis Sunset Ritual, which starts with a toning, detoxifying avocado and aloe vera body exfoliation and is followed by a fragrant aromatherapy steam and seaweed wrap, a relaxing Mediterranean aromatherapy body massage and a jasmine facial.
Meanwhile, men can treat themselves to The Royal Shave which uses signature shaving techniques by New York institution The Art of Shaving – we bet even Harry and Wills would be jealous!
Each of the 1,539 guestrooms and suites in the Royal Towers feature private balconies and views over the Arabian Gulf or The Palm Jumeirah. But we love the sound of the Lost Chamber Suites, with their glass walls looking directly into the fish-filled Ambassador Lagoon.
Failing that, we’d be happy to bed down for the night in a room in the Imperial Club, a ‘resort within a resort’ with over 150 rooms and suites, exclusive services and a private club lounge. Oh yeah, and a date with Bobby de Niro if he happens to be in town….
