The launch of the new autumn winter collections at House of Fraser on Tuesday 31st August kicked off the A/W fashion show season and the style on and off the catwalk was fabulous.
House of Fraser personal shoppers Gemma and Sam Cousins (no relation!) showed us how it's done with Gemma's soft chiffon blouse and tailored shimmering skirt with a floral-flourish of the biggest corsage we've ever seen - SJP would have ripped it off her if she'd been there!
Sam rocked the underwear-as-outerwear trend with soft nude tones of peach and taupe in silky satins and lace and with her embellished jacket layering up the loveliness. This look could have gone OTT if worn with a matching skirt but Sam dressed down the look with skinny jeans and nude Mary-Janes.
Black, as always, was a popular choice - a classic style statement and the perfect trans-seasonal option. Adding opaque tights under your summer dress is the ideal way to stretch out extra wears of your favourite frock or playsuit. Just remember to tie in something else black on your top half to balance out the look - it could be a necklace or earrings with black detail or steal our Trend Editor Andrea McVeigh's style and pop a black boob tube under your halterneck playsuit as an subtle autumnal cover-up.
