 On Monday 3rd May the Sugahfix gals fixed on our Grainne Maher Millinery headwear -jumped in a taxi with said milliner, picked up sugahpal Christine complete with a vintage velvet bow-tie hairband and off we went to join a host of fashionistas at Down Royal for an afternoon of fun, fancy sandwiches, and lots and lots of fizz! Eek! Such fun!
The style was all about the hemlines, headwear and heels. A glam dress was a must with either a fascinator or a fabulous hat adding an edge to the most stylish ladies. Super high heels added height and fabulous style.
The Sugahfix table was super glam with the uber glitz of Vintagistas Becky and Rosie Moore of Frock Around the Clock Vintage fairs. Becky's all out ‘old Hollywood Style' glamour was utterly fabulous with long gloves and lots of diamante. Una Rodden wore a new cloche-style hat picked up in London, while Grainne and myself wore Grainne's trademark cocktails hats - we're thinking they should be renamed prosecco hats! Lol!
Stylish sisters Caoimhe Curran and Aileen Wilson looked stunning in their fabulous outfits and headwear from Blush. Caoimhe, (pictured left) as we all predicted, picked up the best-dressed prize! Yay! go team Sugahfix!
Former Miss NI Fiona Hurley looked uber chic in a cream panama style hat and chunky pearls while pal Kelly Mulgrew just pipped her to the post for the runner up prize for Best Dressed.
The Candy Plum gals all looked amazing in key pieces from the award-winning boutique. Guests enjoyed a fashion presentation of the season's must-have trends from Candy Plum who wowed the audience with their fabulous fashion collections to suit all ages and sizes.
The event was hosted by the ever-fabulous Pamela Ballentine, who kept the craic going and clued us all in on the hot tips and how to read the race cards.
A clean sweep of three bets and three wins had us giddy with glee - we can't wait for the next Afternoon Tea event on the 28th May.!
