Stitch and Style's festive event was held on Wednesday 25 November at the Porcelain suite in Ten Square.
Zip Yard's expert seamstresses advised on party dress alterations and how to transform that LBD just in time for the party season.
Dyanne Sweeney of weddinghairni.com created the hairstyles on the catwalk with Make up by Faye Cochrane from Benefit.
Stitch and Style was named Best Green Event at the Green Awards in London last month. The award recognises Belfast City Council's work in raising awareness of textile waste by encouraging people to revamp their wardrobes and customise their old clothes. The team behind Stitch & Style were also praised for their ‘waste-free' methods of publicising the event, particularly through online publicity (yay!) and their use of social networking sites like Facebook, recently winning a CIPR gold award. Style on the night was eclectic and quirky - just as the Sugahfix gals love it. Scarves were a popular accessory - adding an instant pop of colour with pretty corsages adding a soft, feminine, finishing touch.
Stripes and checks are a classic fashion motif and were a popular look - layered up for added interest. There was lots of vintage fashion and accessories to add a twist to a look or a unique personal style.
We loved the pearl stud earrings that seemed to be a micro trend of the night - very classy indeed.
