Style and elegance was the order of the day as racegoers upped the fashion stakes at the two-day packed NI Festival of Racing at Down Royal.
The best-dressed belle's were selected by a judging panel made up of JNwine.com's Lucinda McMillan, Grainne Maher of Grainne Maher Millinery and Julie Elliot of exclusive Elliot Designer boutique who scouted the grounds to shortlist 6 fashionista's who would epitomise the style and glamour of Northern Ireland most prestigious Racecourse. In a first for Irish racing, the crowd were then asked to vote for their favourite via a texting service. The winner was Ballymena Beauty, Shelly McKay.
Shelly walked away with a host of truly fabulous prizes including an overnight stay at the Merchant Hotel, Belfast, a magnum of Billecart-Salmon Champagne, a headpiece up to the value of £250 by acclaimed Belfast Milliner Grainne Maher and £1,000 to spend in Elliot designer store, Hillsborough.
