It was 80s mania at the screening of Pretty In Pink at Slide on Thursday 29th April. A special event at the Belfast Film Festival and part of our very own 2nd Birthday celebrations our readers did us proud in their best pink, vintage and 80s outfits.
The gals from the Frock Around The Clock Vintage fair created an 80s make-over boudoir where guests were treated to backcombing and beehives from Kelly McLean of Ashby Hair and make-up artist Claire McEvoy performed quick fix 80s make-ups including crazy neon eye shadow looks and pink blush applied right up the hairline!
Gals lined up to have the FATC beauty team add the finishing touches to their looks and immersed themselves in the moment with FATC organiser Becky Moore's amazing display including copies of Vogue and Smash Hits from the 80s, LPs of Culture Club and Lionel Ritchie as well as key fashion looks.
Guests nibbled on delicious pink mini cupcakes and drool-worthy macarons from J Bird Bakery.
Pink, of course, was the big colour of the night with the FATC gals all donning their fushia-pink vintage dresses. Sugahfix's Trends Editor Andrea McVeigh literally looked ‘Pretty in Pink' in her fabulous frothy prom style dress - she might be an Andi herself but was channeling our fashion fave from the film - the iconic Iona. The prom-style dress was a popular choice, layered up with lace, beads and pearls.
Madonna's look from her ‘Desperately Seeking Susan' phase was a key look with lots of lace, layered up bangles, leg warmers and mismatched earrings. Hair was either beehived, backcombed, curled or crimped for a total 80s look.
