Wednesday evening saw a spectacular Fashion event, Sex and the City for SAM, take place in Hillsborough's hottest night spot Bar Retro. Hosted by John Kearns from CityBeat radio, the sell-out show highlighted the hottest of this season's fashions from newly opened local boutiques - Candy Plum and Lacy May's. Those lucky enough to get a ticket enjoyed a West Coast Cooler Rose drinks reception and delicious nibbles from the Bar Retro Kitchen.
The whole event was in aid of the Struggle Against Muscular Dystrophy (SAM) campaign and all the proceeds from the evening were donated to the charity. Quantum Images kindly donated a Mandy Magowan print for auction and it was snapped up by the lovely Lynn Beggs while raffle prizes included gift vouchers from both boutiques, an overnight stay in the Europa Hotel and tickets to the Down Royal Boxing Day Race Meet. Tousling the tresses at the show was Julie and Collette from Shane Bennett Hairdressing who put blood, sweat and several gallons of hairspray into styling the models' hair and make up was expertly applied by Claire McKinney and her fabulous team.
