Fashion stylist and artist, Sara O'Neill, launched her first solo exhibition, 'La Belle et La Bete', on Thursday 10th November at Frame of Mine Gallery, Ormeau Road, Belfast.
Inspired by fashion, music, film and literature, the collection of intricate pencil drawings and mixed-media pieces are a celebration of the 'aesthetically challenged men' in these industries and the beautiful women that loved them.
Ecstatic about her first solo exhibition, Sara said, "Having worked in the fashion industry for a decade, I am used to being surrounded by beautiful women. But what fascinates me is how and why a man is deemed 'attractive'. The iconic men I draw are charismatic, passionate and talented, but they are not conventionally handsome. I found them much more interesting to capture, all the lines, wrinkles and imperfections make for a much more interesting picture. "
The launch party was packed with stylish gals including Style Academy models Kirtsen Gillespie and Rachel Singleton, FHM Holiday Honey Katie Larmour and fashion photographer Khara Pringle.
While Sara wore her trademark black teamed with ice-blonde hair, winged out eye liner and red nails - classic glamour with a rock-chick twist! There was a lot of black spotted along with graphic prints and shrunken leather jackets.
