As part of Northern Bank's innovative three-day Freedom Experience Academy, 20 students from across Northern Ireland attended a unique 'Desk to Dance Floor' style event in Madison's Hotel, Belfast on Wednesday, 25th January.

The event was guided by local style experts Rebecca McKinney, personal stylist at Victoria Square, Belfast; Stephanie Berkeley, marketing manager of W5; Brenda Shankey of Jason Shankey Male Grooming and Karen Devlin from Rogue Hairdressing, Bradbury Place, who showed the students how to dress, groom and style themselves for success.

Featuring useful styling sessions and talks, demonstrating how to up style and accessorise daytime workwear looks to take them from their desks to the dance floor, the event also provided helpful tips on how to make the best first impression at interviews.

Rebecca McKinney showed that suits don't have to be boring – sporting a blue tweed jacket and shorts combo.

Black is always popular for work wear but the attendees at the event showed that black doesn't have to be boring. Texture, detail and accessories can all add interest to black outfits. Leopard print is a great way to add a bit of fun to a daytime look. Navy also adds a professional polish if you prefer neutral tones for work wear but don't want to go for black.
