If it's good enough for Scarlet O'Hara it's good enough for us and help is at hand!
Free workshops on how to revamp furniture and clothes have been taking place across Belfast and there are lots more still to come over the next eight weeks.
The Department of the Environment's Rethink Waste campaign and Belfast City Council Waste Management have teamed up with the Fashion Souk to get you inspired to restyle and refurbish - turning old jumpers into cushion covers – curtains into corsages, to more basic ideas on how to jazz up old pieces of furniture to give them a second lease of life.
The Fashion Souk's talented team of experts will share their top tips on restyling and refurbishing textiles and furniture. Working alongside participants they will demonstrate just how easy it is to give items already in your home a facelift.
The free workshops, each lasting three hours, run until mid May with each area offering a morning and an evening session to accommodate working schedules of locals. Each venue offers four sessions covering stitching and mending, repurposing textiles and revamping furniture. The workshops will culminate in a collective showcase event and exhibition on 14 May in the Europa Hotel.
Materials are provided for each workshop so just bring your items for revamping – and yourself!
