Guest
model Sophie Anderton flew into Belfast on Monday to launch FASHION
WEEK, opening and closing the debut catwalk show. Make-up wunderkid
Paddy McGurkin was the man with a thousand brushes, transforming the
models with Japanese Manga-style make-up - think splodges of colour,
cartoonishly-bold eyebrows, nude lips and softly-blushed cheeks. The
gang retired to the The Europa for some post-show R&R during which
time Sophie let slip that she's launching her own ready to wear and
couture collections later this year (and whispered to us that she
reckons our local models are a lot better than some of the big-name
London gals).
A huge fan of Belfast, Sophie sang the praises of the
backstage team, including Paddy and Hairdresser Michael Quinn saying "I
love these guys, they always make me look beautiful!"
Top Tip: Cosmetics guru Paddy always uses Stila
Illuminating Liquid Foundation. "It loves light and it's never let me
down in a photo yet," he told us.
