Belfast man Colin Murray is to leave Radio One after 10 years to join Five Live's flagship sport show.

Colin, 32, who already presents Fighting Talk and deputises on Five Live regularly, will take over the Friday evening show, previewing the weekend's fixtures, and the Sunday afternoon slot, covering the Premier League matches.

He will still keep his Radio Ulster music show on every Saturday night.

Colin said it was the right time to go as he did not want to 'cling on' at Radio One and that he wanted to go out on a high.
"I've had some great times at Radio One, but the show I'm doing now is the best one I've ever done and I want to leave when I'm still on top of what I do."

Colin said he had to choose between his two great passions - music and sport - but that sport had won in the end. "But I won't be closing off my ears to music," he said.

The Dundonald man has long been a champion of new bands, including our own Snow Patrol, and predicts a great future for Belfast group General Fiasco.
