Carrie-Anne Burton is officially a Supermodel after winning the top prize on RTE's reality TV model search 'The Model Agent'.
Teenage supermodel Carrie-Anne Burton has told how she was worried she had blown her chances of stardom after revealing she was pregnant.
The stunning 19-year-old from Downpatrick was half-way through the RTE competition The Model Agent when she discovered she was expecting.
But the news did not deter top model scout Fiona Ellis (or simply ‘Ellis' as she is better known) from choosing the former face of fashion retailer DV8 as her favourite - and viewers last night saw Carrie-Anne crowned winner of the contest.
Speaking after her win a delighted Carrie-Anne said she still could not believe she had won. The 5ft 8 beauty said: "I still can't believe it. I'm in total shock."
As part of her prize Carrie-Anne will join Ellis' agency Independent Models - home to Erin O'Connor, Naomi Campbell, Lizzie Jagger and Helena Christensen.
But she has been given as much time as she needs to get back into shape before she relocates to London with her new baby, which is due in July, and boyfriend Daryl.
She said: "It was after Christmas and I'd just got back from New York with the other two remaining finalists when I found out I was pregnant," she explained. "I was shocked but really happy, and so was Daryl. But I was also convinced I'd blown it.
"I thought ‘typical', and knew it wasn't exactly the best timing and absolutely dreaded telling Ellis and the show's producers. So, I got my mum Grainne to ring them and tell them. I'd been doing really well up till then and had been getting great comments, but I thought my time in the competition was over and that was that."
However, Ellis and the rest of the crew couldn't have been more supportive.
"Ellis told me that she was a mum and that plenty of models had babies and took them with them on castings. She even sent me a big bouquet of flowers, she couldn't have been nicer," she said.
