Green Day
Friday, 23 May 2008 21:23

cushion250.jpg It's all about green this season. The colour of nature, envy and healing. And we don't mean green just as in ethical and organic (although that's important too - just check out our 'Green is the New Black' blog every week to find out how seriously we take the whole 'saving the world' thing). Of course, this trend does tie in with the green movement too - after all, there's no better way to show off your ethical credentials than to paint your walls a lovely shade of emerald.

In terms of trends though, the colour green is the hottest shade of the season. It's not always an easy colour to live with. And at times you may feel like you're living inside the Palm House in Belfast's Botanic Gardens. But check out Julian MacDonald's gorgeous wallpaper for Graham & Brown, including his 70s-retro Mysterious Green pattern, which you'll find exclusively at Debenhams (£16.99 per roll). Marks & Spencer's Andante collection features tablewear in a lovely shade of muted green, with mugs starting at a super-cheap £2 and dinner plates at £3 (so if you get bored with it you can always donate to the charity shop). Green also stands for 'go' - so what are you waiting for?
