Sonja Lowry knows her style. The former fashion
graduate launched her chi-chi shop, Cocoon Yourself, on
Belfast's Bloomfield Avenue back in 2006 with the aim of offering shoppers a
place to buy, browse, chat, relax, spend time and keep coming back to.
As well as beauty products and must-have accessories
from the likes of Bombay Duck, the boutique-style shop also sells drop-dead
gorgeous glassware from LSA International, stunning design-lead homeware
from Umbra, to-die-for Welsh woven homewares with a contemporary twist from
Melin Tregwynt and a selection of fabulous furniture, such as this
retro-inspired Barcelona-style chair, available in red, cream or white (Sonja
highly recommends the "stunning" white version).
She's also shared her top interiors tips with us.
"Block colour, with a 1980s influence, is very big this season, in shades
of electric blue, primary red, primary yellow and apple green, but it's
only for the very brave and bold. Softer, more user-friendly colours for this season are magenta, chartreuse green, violet purple."
"Adding a splash of colour to over-naturalised
houses are shades that have been inspired by the coast, from soft blues and
blue-greys to drift wood beige."
