For this week’s fashion fix, we hit Forestside Shopping Centre where we were greeted by the amazingly talented Sara O’Neil, designer and stylist – if you don’t know her, you will want to by the end of this little read!
Sara and friends were on the mall all weekend to help you upgrade your wardrobe, provide style consultations, colour matching and advice on dressing for your shape.
When we arrived on Thursday afternoon, Sara had only started and was already in demand from shoppers in the premier shopping destination, so we had to busy ourselves until we could nab a minute with her.
The first thing to catch our eye was the wonderful living doll models from Style Academy, if there is a way to see how high street fashions can work for you, these girls did it so well; they brought every outfit to life and worked it like they were at NY Fashion Week.
Many shoppers were enjoying a make-over and tips from Jordan Humpries, the Sugah Gals couldn’t even get close to her. Chef Stephen Jeffers and his pop-up cafe from was on hand to treat us to a free coffee and a bun (totally underselling this amazing sweat we were served!) – we were sold at coffee!
Fashion Fix: Sara’s advice for the season and top looks from Forestside Shopping Centre’s Uniquely You Fashion event.
“I think there are lots of trends and micro trends around this season as always, and every season the high street is getting stronger; bringing their own versions of these trends to us”.
“As consumers we’ve never had so much choice, which is amazing, but can also making shopping and style slightly overwhelming”.
“I think the trick is to identify what suits you and your lifestyle and dip in and out of the trends that work within your own style to build a wardrobe that works for you efficiently and simply while still having fun and experimenting”.
