The Royal Wedding caused great excitement at Sugahfix.com HQ with live posting on our facebook fan page and twitter with updates and opinions from wedding experts, bridal designer Lizzie Agnew and milliner Grainne Maher, as the big event progressed.

We absolutely loved it and have to admit we shed a tear when we saw Will lean over and say "You look beautiful" to Kate at the alter. Awwww!

Kate-Wills-KissThe dress by Sarah Burton, creative director at Alexander McQueen had the signature McQueen silhouette of exaggerated hips, tiny waist and bustle but with classic princess bride influences including fabric and finish.

I predicted the dress would be a mix of Princess Grace's lace with long sleeves and a high neck at the nape but with a little more decollete showing like Princess Margaret's but thought Kate would go for a more gored shape in the skirt that would have had less volume at the top and fanned out at the bottom into a train - rather than the full skirted padded hip option we saw on the day.

I nearly knocked my laptop of my knee when I saw the lace bodice when we got the first glimpses of the dress. I had so many texts from friends saying "You got it right!" well.. almost!

With the shape of Princess Margaret's bodice and the lace details of Princess Grace's my top half prediction was alarmingly on the money. The pleating on the skirt was technical masterpiece – and the perfect symmetry in the lace on the neckline and the lace appliqué on the skirt was perfection. Maybe not to everyone's taste but the whole look really was princess perfect.

A totally appropriate dress; regal, royal, sophisticated and utterly classy.

While we loved the veil - we think the Queen could have pushed the boat out and lent Kate a tiara with a little more oomph but we realise she was trying to do 'understated elegance' and she really did achieve that look.

romonakevezaWhile we actually preferred Pippa's curve-hugging dress - it wouldn't have been appropriate for the future Queen to look so sexy on her wedding day!

Bride's-to-be who love Kate's look could go for a replica rip-off but we think a stylish bride would want to look uniquely special on her big day and wouldn't want to look like a copy-Kate, so take inspiration from Kate's look – with lace and long sleeves and the overall demure attitude.

Aileen Wilson from Blush actually suggested this stunning Romona Keveza's dress as an elegant style for Kate before the big day. The gown is from Romona Keveza's new collection that featured at New York fashion week - and has a more flattering hip-hugging rather then hip-expanding skirt shape, and it will be in Blush's bridal boutique on the Lisburn Road very soon.

During our live posting on facebook Bridal Designer Lizzie Agnew advised "Lace is good for adding texture without bling, which is not her style, and the fine silk tulle veil is perfect - no fussy OTT head gear."

Kate was quoted as saying she wanted William to recognize her when she got to the alter and Lizzie agreed with this idea. "It's great too that she has her hair down. I always say to brides "don't do anything too far from your usual look, it keeps you feeling more comfortable on the day".

On Sugahfix's fan page on facebook you commented unanimously that Kate was 'Princess Perfect'. Kylie Dunlop said "Like a perfect modern, modest princess!! Beautiful!!" while Susan Skelton said "totally perfect - elegant and understated, graceful and in love." And Frock Around The Clock Vintage Fair organizer Becky Moore said "Princess perfect! Of course we love that her dress has elements of gorgeous vintage styling. Kate we adore you!".
