Ant and Dick's top tips when planning an ethical wedding!!
Before you say it NO!! we are not enviromental experts, nor' do we claim to be though on our recent travels (by train of course) we met some very interesting 'ethical' people who have not only intrigued us but also given us some food for thought!!!
When I first heard of 'ethical' weddings I imagined lots of strangely dressed vegetarians and multi-coloured wheeley bins!! How wrong could I be? Being ethical doesn't mean compromising on style it simply means be ETHICAL!!!! Think about the products and services you are using, are they fair trade, are they locally sourced, what affect does using them have on the environment as a whole and indeed your community.
We could all be more ethical with a little effort and really make a huge difference to the world that we are leaving behind for our beloved following generations. We have put together some tips on how to plan your big day ethically.
Ant and Dick's tips o 1. Have your wedding at home. o 2. Use a dress you already own, or indeed your mum or nans dress... vintage is bang on trend! o 3. Do your own hair. o 4. Do your own make-up. o 5. Tell the groom to wear his own suit. o 6. Buy in season or indeed grow your own flowers. o 7. Give plant seeds or home made goods as favours. o 8. Ask your guests to travel on public transport and leave their chelsea tractors at home. o 9. Recycle all the waste. o 10. Honeymoon in this country or destinations that can be reached by train.
